what to expect at the london eye

Your journey begins at the base of the wheel on the South Bank of the River Thames. As your capsule rises smoothly into the sky it offers uninterrupted panoramic views of the city. Each rotation takes approximately 30 minutes, giving you time to enjoy the sights at a relaxed pace.

On clear days you can see up to 40 kilometres across the city and beyond. There are a variety of ticket types available, including Fast Track access to beat the queues, Flexi Fast Track for flexible timing and a Champagne Experience with a glass of chilled Pommery Brut Royal served in your capsule. For large groups or special occasions you can also book a private capsule for just your party.

The London Eye is located on the South Bank of the River Thames, adjacent to Waterloo Station and within easy walking distance of Embankment, Charing Cross and Westminster stations. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your booked time to allow for ticket scanning and entry.

The experience is self-paced once on board and you are free to take photos from any angle as the capsule rotates. There is no guide on board, but many ticket options include a commentary available in up to nine languages to help explain the views you see from above.
