Day 1 - Arrive Phoenix and Travel to Scottsdale

Welcome to Arizona. Your airport transfer takes you to your tour hotel in Scottsdale. Enjoy the grounds of this desert oasis.

At 18:00, join your Tour Director for a Welcome Dinner with wine.

Day 2 - Sedona and the Wonders of the Mighty Grand Canyon

Head north to the quaint bohemian colony of Sedona, where you can browse the shops and galleries, before travelling on to Grand Canyon National Park.

Perhaps take an optional flight-seeing tour by helicopter or plane over this natural wonder? Spend the night inside the park, experiencing the peace and quiet once the crowds have departed. During your stay, join a Local Expert for an informative presentation about the wonders of the Grand Canyon.

In the evening, enjoy a Highlight Dinner with wine in the Thunderbird Room while taking in the magnificent views.

Day 3 - Monument Valley and Lake Powell

Head to the historic Cameron Trading Post, featuring Southwest American Indian arts and crafts. Your journey carries on through the colourful Painted Desert to Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park, where you will board all-terrain vehicles to explore the valley with your Navajo guide.

Stop at the Glen Canyon Dam to learn about its impact on the Colorado River before arriving at your lakefront resort.

Day 4 - Lake Powell

(Relaxed Start) In the morning, choose to enjoy the resort’s facilities, or perhaps join an optional float trip down the scenic Colorado River?

Later, take an included leisurely cruise through scenic Antelope Canyon with its dramatic, steep, sandstone walls.

Day 5 - Bryce Canyon and Zion National Parks

Head to Bryce Canyon National Park in southern Utah for a leisurely walk along Sunset Point to view the great amphitheatres of the odd-shaped monoliths, known as hoodoos. Travel through more amazing scenery to the lush cliff-and-canyon landscape of Zion National Park.

In the evening, join your Tour Director and newfound friends for a Highlight Dinner with wine.

Day 6 - Zion to Las Vegas, from nature to neon

Board a private Zion Canyon Shuttle, with live commentary, to experience the scenic highlights of the park, followed by some time to explore on your own.

A complete change of scenery awaits you in the afternoon when you arrive in Las Vegas; bright lights, shopping malls and huge themed hotels.

Day 7 - Salt Lake City

Travel to Salt Lake City, the most populous city and capital of Utah, also the headquarters of the Mormon faith.

Day 8 - Jackson and Grand Teton national Park

As you depart Salt Lake City, see the famous Temple Square and State Capitol Building before travelling north across the Oregon Trail to visit historic Jackson, where arches of elk antlers adorn the central square.

Later, continue to Jackson Lake Lodge and the stunning peaks of Grand Teton National Park.

Day 9 - Yellowstone National Park

See the Grand Tetons thrust skyward 6,562 feet (2,000 metres) from the valley floor. Enter Yellowstone, the world’s first National Park, known for its unique geothermal activity, spectacular landscapes, and abundant wildlife.

Day 10 - Geysers and Colourful Mudpots at Yellowstone

(Relaxed Start) Walk among the geysers and watch them erupt. Spend time with your Tour Director for an informative stroll through Yellowstone’s Upper Geyser Basin.

There will be plenty of time to see the colourful bubbling mudpots and observe Old Faithful shooting water over 120 feet (37 metres) in the air. See wildlife in their natural habitat and hear the roar of the Lower Yellowstone Falls.

Day 11 - The Ranch at Ucross

Depart Yellowstone National Park and travel through the stark Shoshone Canyon and Absaroka Rocky Mountains, to reach the Wild West town of Cody. Visit the Buffalo Bill Center of the West, built in honour of one of America’s great Western legends.

Head to Clearmont in Wyoming and after checking in, indulge in a ranch style Highlight Dinner with wine.

Day 12 - Devils Tower into the Black Hills

Start your morning with horseback riding, fishing or just relaxing in your beautiful surroundings.

Then, head towards Devils Tower, an astounding geologic feature that protrudes out of the surrounding Black Hills and is considered sacred to the Lakota and other tribes.

Travel to Spearfish Canyon, a great spot for wildlife enthusiasts, where the breathtaking limestone palisades of this creek-carved gorge are more ancient than the Grand Canyon.

Enjoy the scenery before sitting down to dinner.

Day 13 - Custer and the Wild, Wild West

Keep a lookout for pronghorn antelope as you cross the great high plains to the Black Hills of South Dakota. In Deadwood, join Kevin Costner’s Original Deadwood Tour and explore this once lawless town.

With a Local Expert, hear about the days of Wild Bill Hickok and Calamity Jane, who made this town famous during the gold rush of the 1870s. Then, hear stories told by members of the Lakota tribe as they share a live narrative of the Great Sioux Nation.

Continue on to Custer State Park, renowned for its beautiful landscape and abundant wildlife. Perhaps get up-close and personal with herds of buffalo on an optional jeep safari?

Day 14 - The Black Hills of South Dakota

View the Crazy Horse Memorial, dedicated to all Native Americans. Move on to Mount Rushmore National Memorial, where carvings of Presidents Washington, Jefferson, Lincoln and Roosevelt dominate the Black Hills.

The rest of the day is yours to spend at your leisure before enjoying a Celebration Dinner with wine.

Day 15 - Depart Denver

Alternatively, travel south from Custer State Park where your tour ends on arrival in Denver.

Optional Experiences

Most trips already include a host of bonus highlights and comprehensive sightseeing. There may also be an exciting array of Optional Experiences which will turn an already amazing experience into the trip of a lifetime! These are entirely optional and can be booked through your Travel Director/Local Representative at the commencement of your trips. Please note, many Optional Experiences are operated by independent third party suppliers.



FAQ’s

What meals are included?

Breakfast is included on all overnight tours.  Lunches are not included, unless otherwise stated.  Evening meals are included when stated on the tour itinerary.  On tours of seven days or more, generally fifty percent of dinners are included.  Please check the itinerary page for exact details.

Where does the trip depart from?

Each UK trip will have a dedicated pick up point in central London.  Shorter duration trips will normally depart from Victoria Coach Station, with longer duration trips leaving from the London Reception Centre, near to Waterloo train station.  Departure points will be confirmed before booking a tour.

Can I get picked up from my hotel?

Pick up from hotels is not possible.  You will need to make your own way to the departure point.  However some tours do have a designated hotel departure, which you can stay in prior to the trip.  Please ask at time of booking for departure points and we can direct you to local hotels.

Are entrance fees included?

Entrance fees are included where specified on the itinerary.

Can I pay in dollars?

All tours are quoted and charged in pounds sterling, but you can pay using your local card and currency.  We will debit the card in pounds sterling and your bank will use their exchange rate at that time to deduct the amount in your local currency.

What time does the trip leave and return?

Departure times will vary depending on the itinerary.  European tours departing from London will usually leave between 05.00am and 07.00am.  Multi day UK tours will leave between 06.00am and 07:30am.  Day trips will depart between 07.00am and 09.00am.  European and worldwide tours that start in an overseas city will have a welcome reception on day one of the tour which is usually around 18.00pm.

Return times vary depending on the itinerary.  All the full day coach tours should be finished by no later than 19.00pm, traffic permitting.  The train tours return between 20.00pm and 22.00pm.  Longer duration trips will return between 16.00pm and 19.00pm.  All times will be confirmed at time of booking.

Is this a definite/guaranteed departure?

A definite departure is guaranteed to operate for that given departure date.  A trip that is not yet designated a definite departure is not yet guaranteed to operate based on current booking numbers.  If a trip and departure date you are interested in is not yet definite, do not let this discourage you from booking.  The more paid passengers received, the odds of the trip operating increase.  In the slim case that the operator withdraw a trip you are booked on due to a lack of numbers, you are entitled to a full refund of any funds already paid towards the tour, or if flexible with your time, we can move you onto another departure.

Who travels on these tours, who else is booked?

Whilst we can not confirm exactly who else is booked on a tour, we can guarantee you will be travelling with fellow liked minded travelers who share a passion for travel, fun, adventure and discovery.  All tours will be run by English speaking guides and age ranges will vary.  The beauty of taking a guided holiday is you’ll have the opportunity to meet and travel with people from all over the globe.

Are transfers included from the airport?

In general, if you are joining or departing your guided holiday on the first or last day, return transfers between the airport and hotel are included (excludes itineraries starting and/or ending in London).  You’ll find specific information on the itinerary’s page.

What optional excursions can I do and can I book them now?

Optional experiences are available on some tours.  These are activities that are not automatically included, but offered during your trip to enhance your travel experience.  These are all bookable whilst on the tour via your tour guide/travel director.  These are payable by cash or card.
