Day 1 London - Coventry
Our first stop today is the University town of Oxford. A chance to walk
the cobbled streets before we continue through the rolling Cotswold
Hills to Stratford-upon-Avon, Shakespeare's birthplace. Tonight, we
stay in the city of Lady Godiva, Coventry. D
Day 2 Coventry - Leeds
Our day begins with a visit to the two Cathedrals, learning of the horrific
World War II bombing raids. Then onto Viking York where orientation
shows us the gothic Minster and the 11th century 'Shambles'. Finally
we reach our hotel in Leeds. B D
Day 3 Leeds - Airth Castle (2)
Our first stop today is the city of Durham, with its cathedral and castle
set high above the river Wear. We continue through the Northumberland
National Park and into Scotland, stopping to view the ruins of Jedburgh
Abbey, en route to Airth Castle. B

4 Edinburgh at leisure
We drive to nearby Edinburgh where sightseeing shows us Princes Street
and the Royal Mile. Later you're at leisure. Perhaps visit Holyrood
House or potter around Grass Market. Tonight, you have the option of
a night out with Highland dancing, bagpipes and regional specialities
such as Haggis. B
Day 5 Airth Castle - Runcorn
Today, we drive through the Southern Uplands to Moffat Woollens en route
back into England. Then we enjoy a scenic drive through the Lake District
stopping in Grasmere. Along the shores of Windermere and through pastures,
reminiscent of Wordsworth's great poetry to Runcorn. B D
Day 6 Runcorn - Dublin (2)
Our first stop is at Roman Chester, with a chance to admire the Tudor
architecture and galleried shops known asthe 'Rows'. Then we skirt the
Snowdonia National Park to Holyhead to join our Irish ferry to Dublin.

Day 7 Dublin at leisure
Our morning sightseeing in the 'fair city' features Trinity College
and Phoenix Park. Then you're free. Perhaps visit an Irish stately home
or shop for fine linens and tweeds in O'Connell Street. B
Day 8 Dublin - Co. Clare
We travel across rich farmland to Galway. Here there's time to view
the Cathedral beforedriving alongside Galway Bay.From here, via the
majestic Cliffs of Moher, we travel to Co. Clare for the night. B
Day 9 Co. Clare - Waterville
First to Limerick. Perhaps visit Bunratty Castle and Folk park. Then
via the prettiest village in Ireland, Adare en route to Killarney. We
drive around the 'Ring of Kerry' with magnificent scenery including
plunging cliffs, granite mountains and enthralling seascapes. Later
on to Waterville on the Ivereagh Peninsula for the night. B D
Day 10 Waterville - Cork - Waterford
Today we travel into County Cork, stopping at Blarney Castle to kiss
the famous stone and acquire the 'gift of the gab'. Next on to Cork,
where orientation shows us the City Hall and St. Anne's Shandon Church.
On to Waterford, home of the world-renowned crystal, before we arrive
at our hotel. B D
Day 11 Waterford - Cardiff
We travel to Rosslare to join our ferry to Pembroke in South Wales.
Next on to Tenby, where we have time to stroll along the front in this
attractive seaside resort. Finally on to our hotel in Cardiff. B D
Day 12 Cardiff - Bath - London
Sightseeing in the Welsh capital, Cardiff shows us the Millenium Stadium
and the historic castle. Then we cross the River Severn into England
and the city of Bath. We see the Royal Crescent and have time to walk
the Georgian streets. Next we continue past mysterious Stonehenge to
Salisbury with time to view its impressive Cathedral before returning
to London. B
