Day 1 London -
Oxford - Stratford - Coventry 
Leaving
London, we travel to Oxford and via the Cotswolds andonto Stratford-upon-Avon,
Shakespeare's birthplace. In Coventry we view the two Cathedrals before
arriving at our hotel for dinner. D
Day 2 Coventry - Stoke-on-Trent
- Chester - Runcorn
First we head to the famous Wedgwood Pottery Centre near Stoke-on-Trent.
Then on to Runcorn via Chester with its Tudor architecture and galleried
streets known as the 'Rows'. B D
Day 3 Runcorn - Lakes - Grasmere
- Airth Castle (2)
Today enjoy a scenic drive through the beautiful Lake District to Grasmere,
much loved by William Wordsworth. Then we cross the Scottish border
to visit Gretna Green in order to attend the wedding ceremony and to
shop for tartans. Later, on to Airth Castle near Edinburgh. B
Day
4 Edinburgh at leisure
We drive to nearby Edinburgh where morning sightseeing shows us the
imposing Castle and 'New Town'. Later, stroll down the Royal Mile and
shop for tartans in Princes Street. Tonight, why not enjoy a lively
Scottish cabaret and dinner? B
Day 5 Airth Castle - Durham - York
- Leeds
We pass Jedburgh Abbey before crossing back into England to see Hadrian's
Wall. Then the scenery of Northumberland National Park contrasts with
the great Norman Cathedral in Durham. Later, we reach Viking York where
orientation shows us the Minster and the famous 'Shambles'. Finally,
we arrive at our hotel in nearby Leeds for the night. B D
Day 6 Leeds - Cambridge - London
This morning we travel past Robin Hood's Sherwood Forest en route to
Cambridge. We stop to admire Kings Colleges and the beautiful chapels.
Then a short drive brings us back to London. B
