Fully Escorted Day 1:
After checking in by 6.30a.m., leave Waterloo International with your guide from London to Paris aboard Eurostar for the 2 hour 40 minute journey to Paris, travelling at speeds up to 186 mph and passing en route through the 31 mile-long Channel Tunnel. On arrival at Gare du Nord enjoy a fully-guided panoramic motorcoach tour of Paris including the Champs-Elysées, Arc de Triomphe, Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower and much more. After a break for lunch board a comfortable cruise boat for a guided tour along the River Seine with its many romantic bridges and enjoy a magnificent view of Notre Dame from the water. Then cross to the Right Bank of the Seine for a guided tour of the famous Louvre - the biggest museum in the world - with its fabulous treasures and controversial glass pyramid before taking leave of the BritainShrinkers Guide and transferring by prepaid taxi to your comfortable air-conditioned 4-star hotel. The evening is free for optional independent activities – or to enjoy the excellent facilities of your hotel. The Concierge Desk is helpful and efficient. They are happy to assist in any way with table or theatre reservations, travel arrangements such as tours to Versailles, Giverny etc.
Unescorted Day Two: After a leisurely buffet breakfast at your hotel, the day is free for you to explore Paris independently. With you 1-Day Paris Visite Card you can travel freely on the quick and frequent Paris Public Transport system which includes the metro, the buses and the RER (fast trains between main stations). This is by far the most efficient way to get about in Paris and enables you to concentrate on your main areas of interest such as Notre Dame, Musee d'Orsay and the Eiffel Tower. The hotel is ideally situated on direct lines to Notre Dame, the Eiffel Tower, Rive Gauche, Louvre Museum, Opera and the shopping areas of Paris. Your return Eurostar departs Paris Gare du Nord at 7.19p.m. and you should be aware that check-in closes 30 minutes prior to departure so allow plenty of time to get there: the train is scheduled to arrive back at Waterloo International just befor 8.54p.m. local time.
