Day 1 London -
Paris (2)
A warm welcome from our Tour Director before we drive through Kent to
Dover where we view the White Cliffs. A short Channel crossing takes
us to Calais in France and elegant Paris.
Day 2 Paris at
leisure
 Morning
sightseeing shows us the Eiffel Tower, Champs Elysées, Arc de
Triomphe and Notre Dame Cathedral. Then you're free to stroll along
the banks of the Seine, admire the works of the great masters in the
Louvre, visit Montmartre and the Sacré Coeur or relax over a
glass of wine in an open air café. CB
Day 3 Paris - Lucerne
This morning we travel through the Burgundy vineyards of central France.
Then across the border to Switzerland and picturesque lakeside Lucerne.
Tonight, try an evening out at a Swiss Folklore show. CB D
Day 4 Lucerne -
Milan
Time this morning for a mountain excursion and shopping in old Lucerne.
Later, we take the St. Gotthard highway, past Alpine peaks and descend
to the Swiss and Italian Lake Districts to our hotel in the Milan area
for dinner and overnight. CB D
Day 5 Milan - Rome

Today after crossing the Apennine Mountains, we take the 'Highway of
the Sun' to Rome, the 'Eternal City', city of Romulus and Remus and
cornerstone of an illustrious Empire. CB
Day 6 Rome at leisure
A whole day for in-depth exploration. Our sightseeing tour highlights
such wonders as the Forum, St. Peter's and Colosseum. There's free time
later to marvel at the tapestries in the Vatican Museum and take a trip
to Tivoli Gardens. CB
Day 7 Rome - Florence
This morning on through Tuscany's famous Chianti wine region to Renaissance
Florence. Here we will view the city from Piazzale Michelangelo. Later,
time is your own to see the Cathedral, the Baptistry, Giotto's Bell
Tower, Signoria Square and perhaps go shopping. CB D
Day 8 Florence
- Venice (Mestre) 
It's only a short drive to Venice, the most romantic of cities. New
delights abound at each and every turn of our canal cruise to St. Mark's
Square, where we see the Basilica and ornate Doges' Palace. CB D
Day 9 Venice (Mestre)
- Verona - Innsbruck
This morning we recall the feuding Montagues and Capulets in Shakespeare's
Verona. Then we enter Austria over the Brenner Pass and Europa Bridge.
Tyrolean Innsbruck, with its Golden Roof, Hofburg Palace and arcaded
shops, await us. CB D
Day 10 Innsbruck
- Rhineland (Bensheim)
Today we travel along the Inn Valley to Bavarian Munich to see the Glockenspiel,
Hofbräuhaus and Olympic Stadium. Then on to Heidelberg to view
the Castle and the University town of 'Student Prince' fame. We continue
to our Rhineland hotel for the night. CB D
Day 11 Rhineland
(Bensheim) - Amsterdam
We enjoy a morning cruise along the Rhine, past clinging vineyards and
towering castles. Then in Cologne, we view the magnificent Cathedral,
before continuing to Holland and lively Amsterdam. CB
Day 12 Amsterdam
- London
Our morning sightseeing tour reveals a colourful capital. With its spider-webbed
canal system, Amsterdam is often referred to as the 'Venice of the North'.
After a visit to a diamond-cutting factory, we begin our journey to
Calais for our ferry crossing to Dover. Then by coach we return to London.
