Day 1 London - Salisbury - Bath
Greetings as we travel to Salisbury Plain. See ancient Stonehenge with
its mystical tales of Druids and sun worship. In Salisbury we view the
Cathedral en route to Jane Austen's Bath where we admire the Georgian
architecture. Time to shop for postcards and souvenirs before arriving
at our hotel.
Day
2 Bath - Wells - Exeter (2)
Today we drive to nearby Cheddar Gorge to admire its rugged beauty.
Then on to visit Wells - a beautiful city with an awe-inspiring Cathedral.
Finally driving through Thomas Hardy's Wessex and its rolling green
hills, we arrive in Exeter, where orientation shows us the Cathedral
and medieval walls. B
Day 3 Devon and Cornwall excursion
We leave Exeter and skirt Dartmoor to reach Plymouth where you will
have a chance to take a boat trip around the harbour. Then we continue
south to Marazion where we see St. Michael's Mount and north to the
Atlantic coast of Cornwall and the Artist's colony of St. Ives. Finally
we return to our hotel in Exeter for dinner. B D
Day 4 Exeter - Glastonbury - Newport
We drive through the 'scrumpy' county of Somerset to Glastonbury, legendary
burial site of King Arthur, where we visit the Abbey ruins. Then to
Bristol where we see Brunel's Clifton Suspension Bridge on our orientation
tour of this fine city. Finally across the Severn bridge into Wales
and our hotel in Newport. B D
Day 5 Newport - Cardiff - Waterford
This morning we visit nearby Cardiff, capital of Wales. Here orientation
shows us the castle and Millennium Stadium Cardiff Arms Park. Then we
drive through South Wales via Camarthan to Pembroke, where a ferry takes
us across the Irish Sea to Rosslare. From here by coach we arrive in
Waterford, home of the famous crystal for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 6 Waterford - Cork - Waterville
This morning we drive via Cork, stopping to visit Blarney Castle with
a chance to acqui re the 'gift of the gab'. Into County Kerry and down
Dingle Bay to Waterville. We have begun the famous 'Ring of Kerry' drive.

Day 7 Waterville - Ennis
A succession of mountains, bays and pretty towns lead us to the lakes
of Killarney, before stopping in Killarney itself. On to Limerick, where
orientation shows us St. Mary's Cathedral and St. John's castle before
reaching the pretty village of Ennis for the night. B
Day 8 Ennis - Dublin (2)
First to Nenagh in County Tipperary, with its ruined castle and former
home of the Butler family. Finally, via the horse-breeding area of Kildare
to Dublin, Ireland's capital. B
Day 9 Dublin at leisure
Morning sightseeing features Trinity College, St. Patrick's Cathedral,
Phoenix Park and the impressive Four Courts. The rest of the day is
at leisure. Perhaps shop for Irish tweeds and linen or visit a Stately
Home. B
Day 10 Dublin - Runcorn
From Dublin Bay, we take the ferry to Holyhead on the Isle of Anglesey.
Enjoy the scenery of the North Wales coastline as we skirt Snowdonia
National Park. We stop to visit Chester with its famous galleried 'Rows'
on our way to Runcorn. Dinner is at our hotel tonight. B D
Day 11 Runcorn - Edinburgh (Queensferry)

We drive through the beautiful Lake District, reminiscent of scenery
which inspired William Wordsworth's famous poem, 'Daffodils'. Next we
cross the Scottish border and continue across the Southern Uplands to
Edinburgh, Scotland's elegant capital, for two nights. B
Day 12 Edinburgh at leisure
Our morning sightseeing tour shows us Princes Street and the Royal Mile.
Later you're at leisure - p erhaps visit Holyrood House or potter around
Grass Market. This evening, you have the option of a night out with
Highland dancing, bagpipes and regional specialities such as haggis.

Day 13 Edinburgh (Queensferry) -
Aviemore
Today we head towards the Fife Coast to see St. Andrews, home of the
famous Golf Course. Then via Pitlochry with views of Blair Atholl as
we drive into the Highlands to the ski resort of Aviemore for the night.

Day 14 Aviemore - Glasgow
Via Inverness and along the shores of Loch Ness, we pass Ben Nevis -
Britain's highest mountain. On to notorious Glencoe, where the Macdonalds
met their doom at the hands of the Campbells. We continue to Loch Lomond's
bonnie banks en route to our hotel in Glasgow. B D
Day 15 Glasgow - Leeds
An orientation drive in Glasgow shows us the Cathedral and George Square.
Then we enjoy a scenic drive to Moffat Woollens with time to purchase
tweeds and tartans. Next, a picture stop at Hadrian's Wall, before our
arrival in Viking York. Here we admire the Minster and stroll along
the medieval 'Shambles'. Later, on to nearby Leeds. B D
Day 16 Leeds - London
We drive southwards through the Midlands to Coventry to view the old
and new Cathedrals standing side by side. Then to Shakespeare's Stratford-upon-Avon.
Time to explore this historic town before heading through the scenic
Cotswolds back to London. B
