Explore the cobbled streets of Old Windsor with its quaint shops, enjoy a riverside walk and visit the castle, founded by William the Conquerer and now the occasional home to Queen Elizabeth 11. Visit St George's Chapel the burial place of 10 British Kings and Queens with its magnificent Gothic architechture, explore the State Apartments or see Queen Annes Dolls House.
Afterwards a visit to Runnymede where King John sealed the Magna Carter in 1215, the very first charter of civil liberties and the JF Kennedy Memorial which stands on American soil, given to the U.S. by HM Queen Elizabeth.
We then follow the old 'coaching road' to the City of Bath
Savour the atmosphere and golden beauty of Bath, famous for its Roman history and elegant Georgian architecture. Enjoy a guided tour around this World Heritage city once home to Jane Austen, Charles Dickens, Gainsborough, Lord Nelson and Beau Nash.
Explore the impressive architecture of the Royal Crescent and The Circus, Pulteney Bridge and the magnificent weir, The Abbey, Assembly Rooms and Theater Royal and hear about the history, legends and characters which have shaped Bath through the ages.
Afterwards, visit the Roman Baths and Museum and Pump Rooms (entrance included) and explore Bath at your leisure. Sample the spring waters, explore the paved passages, narrow streets and quaint shops. Make sure you pause to watch the bizarre street performers. Maybe enjoy lunch in one of the many excellent pubs and restaurants or enjoy a picnic by the rushing waters of the Weir and River Avon. We spend well over 3 hrs in Bath so there is plenty of time to enjoy the many attractions of this beautiful city.
Afterwards, we enjoy a scenic drive through the leafy lanes of the Cotwolds to visit idyllic Castle Combe, voted the "prettiest village in England". Explore this unspoilt village with its quaint cottages, and rushing stream. Savour the peaceful atmosphere of an age long gone and maybe enjoy a pint of traditional ale or a cream tea in an old English inn.
