Harry Potter Film Locations including Gloucester Cathedral

Explore film locations such as Hogwarts School (Christchurch College, Oxford University), find shrunken heads and other props used in the films at the Pitt-Rivers Museum, see the Dursley's house, and visit some of the quaint villages in Buckinghamshire used as locations in 'The Goblet of Fire'. This is a wonderful day out for all the family, whatever your age!

Christ Church College

Many of the Hogwart's school scenes were filmed at Oxford University especially Christ Church - including the staircase where Mrs McGonagall greets the schoolchildren, the Great Hall on which Hogwart's dining room was modelled (pictured), the library where Harry creeps at night under his invisible cloak, and Hogwart's hospital.

Oxford is featured prominently again in 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets'

Further scenes of the adventures of Harry Potter and his friends were shot at the Norman Cathedral of Gloucester a place of worship for more than 1300 years - including the Ghost scenes and talking pictures. The Cathedral is featured again in 'Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets' including the scene with the ghost Moaning Myrtle, and the mysterious red writing on the wall.

In an extra hour also include Lacock Abbey, where some of the classroom scenes were filmed. The beautiful village of Lacock will evoke memories in the minds of avid film buffs - it was also used in the period dramas Emma and Pride and Prejudice.
