Edinburgh - Who would believe travelling from London to Edinburgh on a one-day rail excursion was possible! You arrive in Edinburgh at approximately 11.30am.
First, take your included 'open top' sightseeing tour of this beautiful city, visit Edinburgh Castle overlooking the city. Here you will see the Scottish Crown Jewels in the Royal Apartments and tiny St. Margaret's Chapel, Edinburgh's oldest building.
Walk down The Royal Mile, the cobbled street linking the Castle into town, passing St. Giles High Kirk, John Knox House and the Scotch Whisky Heritage Centre. Spend time enjoying the tranquillity of Princes Street Gardens or stroll along Princes Street, browsing amongst its many stores on the look out for tweeds and tartans or try some Scottish shortbread.
We reboard our late afternoon train back to London arriving at Kings Cross Station at approximately 22.15hrs.
