ARRIVAL IN MUNICH
Now the fun really starts. After arriving at the Munich camping ground "Thalkirchen" mid-morning you will be issued with your pre-erected tent and then you’ve got the day free to party! You can either join the mob at the camp bar or head into town to the Mathäuser or Hofbrauhaus permanent city beerhalls for the pre-beerfest party, or maybe join the ‘animals’ for the ‘100 club’.
Day 3 - Saturday 22nd September 2007
BEERFEST OPENING DAY
After breakfast we head into the famous Oktoberfest grounds for a huge day. At noon the Munich mayor taps the first keg ... then it’s time to party!! Free Shuttle coaches to and from the camp will operate throughout the day until the beerhalls close.
Day 4 - Sunday 23rd September 2007
DACHAU, ANDECHS MONASTERY & BEERHALLS
After breakfast we take you on a very sobering experience: a tour of the infamous Dachau concentration camp, north of Munich. This was the first of its kind built by Hitler. In the afternoon we change the mood completely by taking you to the beautiful Andechs beer monastery - the home of the famous boch beer. Then it’s back to the beerhalls for the night’s festivities. These excursions - like all our shuttles - are free.
Day 5 - Monday 24th September 2007
ESCAPE TO AUSTRIA
Need a break ? Well we get you out of Munich for the day taking you to spectacular Austria. However if you’re looking for a rest be warned: the party over there usually ends up just as big!! We take you around the beautiful Tyrol region and stop at the ritzy ski resort of Kitzbuhel for lunch. Then for the adventurous, we stop at St Johann’s summer tobogganing run, which costs only about £4 (weather permitting). We then head to the small village of Kirchdorf where you’re welcome to join our very own annual Beerfest BBQ with loads of live music, drinking and partying. Cost is about £10. The party starts early evening and continues in our own marquee before doing a late evening transfer back to Munich.
Day 6 - Tuesday 25th September 2007
NEUSCHWANSTEIN - FAIRYTALE CASTLE
After breakfast we offer a day tour out to the amazing Neuschwanstein, King Ludwig's famous fairytale castle on which Walt Disney based his famous Disneyland castle. Entrance to the inside of the castle must be via an English tour. Those wanting to join this tour (cost approx £5) can organise with their courier on the way from Munich to the castle. Tonight we have a final big night’s bash at the beerhalls.
